CHANGE!
“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today, yes and forever,” Hebrews 13:8.
The canvass of fall’s colorful beauty is breath taking, but even its beauty calls out, “Change is coming.” From the changing of the seasons to the change in your pocket, life is full of changes.
No matter how much you don’t like winter, if you live up ‘North’, it’s coming. Like the march of time, there are several changes we cannot avoid, but we can be prepared.
Leaders need to help prepare their followers for inevitable changes. Trials of sorrow, suffering, death, and persecution will impact everyone. There is no better preparation a leader can offer than the counsel of God’s Word.
On the other hand, there are some changes we should make and some we shouldn’t. In either case, very few changes are welcomed with open arms. In fact, some are vigorously resisted. Leaders must know how to tell the difference.
Though God does not change, He is a God of change. He is not the God of “We’ve never done it that way before.” Neither is He the God of “Any change will be an improvement.” Therefore, He graciously gives leaders the discerning Spirit of His Word and the humility to seek wise counselors.
The God of all good transformations, who established the changing seasons, never changes.
